ABC has picked up an additional season of Extreme Weight Loss, a renewal that will bring the show into its fifth season on the network. ABC has ordered 13 all new episodes of the popular weight loss series which is now airing in its fourth season.
The fifth season is slated to air next summer and will chronicle three couples in a special edition entitled “Extreme Weight Loss: Love Can’t Weight.†Chris & Heidi Powell are expected to help the trio get ready both physically and emotionally for their wedding day. This season the contestants are working with Chris and Heidi and will also spend the first 90 days of their weight loss mission at University of Colorado’s Anschutz Health and Wellness Center located in Aurora, CO.
‘Extreme Weight Loss’ currently ranks No. 2 among Adults 18-49 in its Tuesday time slot of 8 p.m. slot among Adults 18-49. JD Roth, Todd A. Nelson, Matt Assmus and Brant Pinvidic all serve as executive producers on the series.
